At George Taylor & Co. (Hamilton) Ltd. we are pleased to be able to offer a competitive basic hourly rate of £11.00 (includes timekeeping bonus) to our foundry operatives, plus currently, overtime paid at time and half every Friday.

Chargehands and those in other more experienced or senior roles earn an supplementary amount in addition to this.

We work 37 hours over 4 days per week (Monday-Thursday) and have every Friday off.
(Friday overtime currently available at time and a half.)

We are based in central Hamilton close to excellent road, bus and rail links. We offer free staff parking.

Foundry Operatives

Full training is given to all new employees. It may help applicants to know that the work can be of a physical nature at times. Foundry Operatives report directly to the Chargehand responsible for the area in which they are placed and will work in one or all of the following areas -

• Moulding
• Core Making
• Casting
• Dressing
• Stores

Our production process is dynamic and varied, not the same repetitive production line all day every day. You would be working in small teams throughout different disciplines within the foundry. We aim to deliver an excellent service to our customers. Foundry Operatives must therefore be able to closely follow instructions given by Chargehands or Management Team. This in turn ensures that our work and finished products are to a standard that is acceptable to both the company and its customers.

Chargehands

Chargehands are more experienced employees who have the skills and experience to supervise the foundry operatives working in their area.

All required personal protective equipment is supplied.
